Simple Guide to Configuring Hot Water Circulation Pump

This simple guide will show you how to easily configure a hot water circulation pump to run periodically for 3 minutes in 30-minute intervals during the day, providing instant hot water for washing.

Output Configuration

  1. Navigate to the TapHome output module.

  2. Set the relevant output where the circulation pump is connected as Pulse-width modulation .

  3. Select Device type “Circulation pump ” and save the settings.

  4. Go to the newly created Circulation pump device and set PWMPeriod to 1800s (30 minutes) in the Service settings menu.

Automation

  1. Add a Smart rule Lighting timer .
  2. Set the motion sensor to Presence from the Presence sensor.
  3. Press Configure to limit it only to non-night times - 07:00 - 22:00.
  4. Set Execute Action to Circulation pump → Power 10% (i.e., 3 minutes out of 30 minutes is on, since it’s a PWM output).
  5. For a specified time - can be left unchanged.
  6. To turn off the circulation pump after motion expires, add another Smart rule with lower priority - Keep default values with value 0%.
